Showdown has a performance pedigree deluxe.  His extremely popular sire, Sandro Hit, was Bundeschampion of six year old dressage horses and World Champion of young horses in Amheim, the Netherlands.  He has sired several Bundeschampions (including Poetim, Sandro Classic and Show Star) as well as approval winners (e.g. Sir Willson, Sandrit, Stedinger and Samba Hit II).  The dam, Goldfee, is a daughter of the esteemed Gotthard son, Goldstern, who was one of the best sires in modern day breeding history and fit perfectly in not only dressage but also jumper pedigrees.  The dam’s side of Showdown’s pedigree has a highly interesting breeding variation.  Showdown is a product of a particularly successful branch of the widely branched Thoroughbred family aa, making him closely related to numerous prominent horses in Thoroughbred breeding, some of which have also left clear marks in warmblood breeding as well such as Abary xx, Acatenango xx, Agavit xx (private stallion in Sachsen-Anhalt), Black Sky xx (private stallion in Hanover and Rhineland-Pfalz) and Game Fox xx (State Stud Warendorf).
